“For years I was fascinated with the north shore cliffs of Molokai Island, Hawaii, which are the world’s tallest sea cliffs (3,300 feet high).”

“A 3-day yacht trip along this coast with friends helped to solidify my intention to paint this major oil.”

space-tWidely considered to be the tallest sea cliffs in the world, the Molokai sea cliffs are between 3,000 and 4,000 feet high and are located along the island’s north coast.

The Molokai sea cliffs are the result of the Makanalua Penninsula falling into the sea due to the erosion from the seawater pounding away at its base.  What you see now – all 14 miles of it – is what was left standing after the collapse.  The sea cliffs themselves are a deep, velvety emerald green and during wet seasons you can see waterfalls coursing down to the ocean.
